Designed to lay a strong foundation for board development and governance for nonprofits in Carroll County, this series will equip nonprofits with best practices in board governance and prepare potential board members for the responsibilities of nonprofit Board leadership. This is a joint project of the Kahlert Foundation, Maryland Nonprofits and the Carroll Nonprofit Center.
These events are all free and you can register for several workshops. Some events are for specific audiences (CEOs, current Board members) or multiple audiences. Please only register for the event that applies to you.
Elevate Your Nonprofit Board: Principles for Effective Board Recruitment and Governance-CLOSED

Board Savvy CEO: Coordinating Board Success

Valuing Your Community Through Board Service

Participants will explore the roles and responsibilities of board members, learn the rewards and challenges of board service, and gain insights into local nonprofits seeking new board talent.
Mission Match Carroll: Connecting Passion with Purpose

This networking and Board recruitment event brings together nonprofit leaders who attended any of the prior sessions and potential Board members who attended “Valuing Your Community Through Board Service.” Nonprofit leaders will tell potential Board members about their organization and have one-to-one conversations with community members who have already learned what it means to be a Board member of a nonprofit organization.
